Sponsored Traineeship Programme
The Sponsored Traineeship Programme is designed for students, researchers and young professional. It provides the opportunity to acquire practical work experience and allows trainees to gain a better understanding of UNESCO's mandate.
Who can apply?
To be considered for UNESCO's Sponsored Traineeship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements, at the time of application:
- Be at least 20 years old
- Applicants should be qualified in areas related to UNESCO's fields of competence
- Applicants must have completed at least three years of full-time studies (first university degree or Bachelors degree or equivalent) at a university or equivalent
- Applicants should be proficient in English or French
How to apply?
- Sectors/Bureaux/Field Offices prepare terms of reference describing potential traineeship assignments in the Organization
- The terms of reference are submitted to Donors and Partner Institutions for consideration and advertisement to potential candidates. Individuals should apply for sponsored traineeship programme ONLY through respective sponsored entities. Applicants should follow the requirements, timeline and processes made by their sponsored entities.
- The Donors and Partner Institutions will preselect eligible candidates and submit this list to UNESCO for evaluation
- UNESCO will interview the most suitable candidates and make the final selection decision which will also be communicated to the Donors or Partner Institutions
