OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
A.Background
One of the top emerging actors in the Vietnamese private sector, SOVICO Group has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the nation’s sustainable development as part of its overall business model with a legacy of grants to different social, sports and cultural activities that demonstrate the importance of responsible business to the Group. Now, at the start of a new decade, with SOVICO Group able to expand its growth regionally and internationally, it can further position itself as a leader among Vietnamese corporations. The partnership signed in September 2020 between SOVICO Group and with the United Nations (UN) in Viet Nam marks an important milestone that highlights this global perspective of SOVICO Group and the values of its leadership. With the UN partnership now established, it is timely that the new vision established by SOVICO Group’s leadership be articulated into concrete actions, including the creation of a fund which will allow the Group to invest in actions that support the sustainable development of Viet Nam in areas of particular interest to the group e.g. youth, heritage etc.
Long Description
In this regard, a strategic dialogue towards an innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy for SOVICO Group is organized with the following objectives:
- Examine relevant international examples of major corporate funds/foundations and provide suggestions to SOVICO Group’s proposed fund;
- Receive the inputs of SOVICO Group leadership and that of its member companies required to establish the vision and focus of the Fund.
- Understand the related requirements which such funds entail as part of responsible business practice.

B. Key assignments
1. Conduct research and design a strategic dialogue on CSR Strategy for approximately 50 high-level executives of a corporation (1 day)
2. Prepare presentation slides and materials (2 days)
3. Deliver presentations and facilitate the discussions that follow the presentations at the dialogue (1 day)

COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least master’s degree in Social Science, Business Management, Finance or Communication (A master’s degree can be substituted by over 20 years of work experiences)
- Over 15 years of experiences in providing consultation and management services in the field of corporate social responsibility, responsible business, public private partnership
- Demonstrated experiences in strategic high-level meeting facilitation, international principles and frameworks policy advisory, and strategic consultation for public and private sectors

It is estimated that the Consultant will work intermittenly for maximum 4 working days within the contract duration from April to July 2021.
